The mission of Women in Data Science Belgium is to increase participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work.

The first Women in Data Science (WiDS) Belgium, held in the vibrant city of Ghent on May 17, 2024, was a testament to dedication and collaboration, culminating in a day filled with inspiration and discovery!

The highlights of the event were the opening speech by Dr. Christine Durinx, who shared great insights on diversity and inclusion, and our three keynote speakers, Jenny Ambukiyenyi Onya, Dr. Malvina Nissim and Dr. Lotte Van den Berg who shared fantastic insights on AI ethics and its implications for the future.
